Do you still remember your childhood look? How much have you changed since then?

Hundreds of social media users participated in an online photo recruitment project. They have uploaded a comparison of their childhood photos and recent looks in similar postures.

Let’s have a look at these hilarious comparisons.

My mom took the picture of my dad and me at the railway station in my hometown in March, 1999. I was a little over one year old. The photo at the bottom was taken in March this year. I’m now a freshman and study in a college far from my hometown. The railway station hasn’t changed a lot even as we changed entirely. My father squatted just as 17 years ago, only to reach my shank. My parents said they liked characters “exit” at the station the most since it means I’m coming home.

These two photos were all taken in front of a white wall at home by one of my mother’s colleagues. I was only five years old when my first photo with my mother was taken. Now I am 40. My mother seems as young as she looked in the first picture. I just wish my family to be healthy and bright.

I had this picture with my good friend on a school outing. 20 years later, we work in the same city. Time might change our appearances but never our friendship. We will celebrate our friendship after many more years.

The left one was taken at a photo studio in Shenyang on September 30, 1960. I was one and a half year old at that time. Now I’m 58, retired. I have a mixed feeling while looking at the comparison of over half a century. Time really flies. We should cherish each moment.

The left one, with a landmark historical site in my hometown as background, was taken by my father on Children’s Day in 1986 when I was ten years old. I went to the Congtai Park in my hometown Handan with my parents. I wore school uniform and plastic sandals which were quite popular in those days. The right one was taken at the same place this year. The concrete railings have been replaced by bluestones while the historical site once highest in city has been surpassed by other buildings. I’m now a 40-year-old freelancer but as a child I dreamt of becoming an astronomer.

Both photos of my brother and me were taken in the yard at my grandma’s. Traces on the wall haven’t changed while we grew wrinkles around our eyes.

I had a reunion with my two childhood friends 11 years later. The right one on the photo practiced badminton since she was a child. She continued with that even now and has won quite a few championships at provincial level. The badminton stadium where we had pictures is run by her family.

I went to Xiamen with my parents for the first time in 1995 when I was seven. The upper photo was taken by my father. The bottom one was taken by a tourist last year when my mother and I revisited the same place. I’m now a senior high school teacher. My mum is in her fifties.

I grew in a village and was an innocent, lively boy as a child. The childhood photo was taken on a rooftop by my second uncle when I was five years old. I reached the rooftop in a bamboo crate by pulley and was a bit scared at the moment. Now I’m a petroleum engineer working at China National Petroleum Corporation. I’m working to fulfil my childhood goal of being a useful person and a scientist.

The old photo of my younger brother and I was taken in 1996. My naughty brother was unwilling to take my hand at that time. He grew taller than me and is more obedient to me now than then. Both of us have worked to ease the family burden.

The childhood picture of me painting in my grandpa’s studio was taken around 2000 by my mother. I was fond of painting as a child and wanted to go painting class even when I was sick. Now I have turned this hobby into profession. I study at a college of fine arts. Painting has become an inseparable part of my life.

The left picture was taken by my uncle at a square in Xinjiang in 1995 when I was nine. It was a rare opportunity for us to take such a picture in downtown city. The right one was taken by my friend at the same place this May. Now I work at a passenger terminal. My childhood dream of being a soldier has faded away.

The childhood photo was taken by my father. Now I’m a junior majoring in photography. In childhood, I dreamed about becoming a superstar.

The left photo of my two younger cousins, my brother and I was taken by my mother in front of the gate of the yard in our old house in 1998. My brother seemed unhappy in the photo since he wanted to eat apple which my mother disapproved. We burst into laughter each time when we saw my brother’s expression in this photo. Now I’m 32-year-old elementary school teacher. My brother is also a father. The left one was taken on my cousin’s wedding day this year. I found I am the shortest one among us four.

We were around ten years old at that time and dancing at a church. I cannot recall who took the picture for us. Now we are in our thirties. Among us there is a teacher, a beauty consultant and an architect. We had a good time by wearing the same clothes to dance in the same place after all these years. We loved taking a picture same as the old one.

We are brother and sister and now in our sixties. The childhood photo was taken in a photo studio in 1956. The later one was taken at home in 2006. We sit just the same as 50 years ago. Now we are older by 10 more years.

The childhood photo was taken by my mother at Bajing Park. The hallow shape cannot hold me anymore. I’m 21 years old and moving towards my dream every day.

The childhood photo was taken when I was five. I dreamed of becoming a pilot and now I work in advertising industry. I’m interested in fields like technology and military. I hope I will become a senior military man in the future.
